Maria Padian

Young adult novelist Maria Padian lives and writes from her home in midcoast Maine. Before devoting herself full-time to fiction she worked as a news reporter, congressional aide, radio essayist and freelance writer. A graduate of Middlebury College and the University of Virginia, Maria also attended Oxford University and the Bread Loaf Writers Conference. These days, she takes breaks from the computer by playing with her Australian Shepherd, texting her grown children, taking long walks along the beach or feeding logs into the woodstove. Her award-winning books for young people include "Wrecked" (Algonquin, 2016); "Out of Nowhere" (Knopf, 2013); "Jersey Tomatoes Are the Best" (Knopf, 2011); and "Brett McCarthy: Work in Progress." (Knopf, 2008).

Come meet Maria Padian and dozens of additional authors at this year's Books in Boothbay, coming on July 8!
