An artist and author, Cheryl was born in upstate New York. She attended business school in Albany, and after many years in the business sector, she ventured to St. Croix where she eventually came to own a small blueprinting and architectural supply business. During that time, Cheryl discovered an island that begged to be painted. Twenty years later, she moved to Florida where she was able to attend a small art school. Her move to Maine was spurred by both the idea of painting the Maine coast as well as developing a genealogical chart about her paternal Maine ancestors. Soon, all that research became the catalyst for writing novels.
