Born
in Boothbay, Maine, Lara Tupper returns for Books in Boothbay on September 11.
She is the author of three books. Her most recent is Amphibians – a collection
of short stories (many of which are set in Maine) and winner of the Leapfrog Global
Fiction Prize. Lara also wrote Off Island,
a novel about the life of Paul Gauguin, and A
Thousand and One Nights, an autobiographical fiction about singers at sea.
She taught creative writing for many years at Rutgers University and now presents
workshops in the Berkshires of Western Massachusetts.
Lara
grew up with the Boothbay Railway Village train whistle in her backyard and is
excited to return home. A portion of on-site book sales benefit the railway
village museum as well as the Boothbay Harbor Memorial Library.
Lara and 30+ authors will be signing books Saturday, September 11 from 9 a.m. - noon & 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. See you there!
